Canada’s Best Racing Team taking full arsenal to NASCAR finale

September 16th, 2016, TORONTO, ON – Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) is closing out the 2016 NASCAR Pinty’s Series (NPS) the way it started – with an aggressive three-car effort. Team General Manager Joey McColm says a strong finish will lead the team into the long off-season.

“We opened strong in May at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park,” said McColm. “We had one car on the podium with Robin Buck, and all three cars showed progress throughout the weekend.

“It was a tough season, and the best way to build morale for next year is to come out and try to duplicate the success from May.”

McColm will drive the CBRT/Piloti #1 Ford while Larry Jackson will drive the Piloti #25 Ford. Paul Geniole jr. is slated to make his NPS debut in the #8 Ford giving Piloti three entries in the starting field.

“I’m excited to give Paul a chance to get behind the wheel,” said McColm. “He is eager to prove himself, and we are always looking for fresh young talent. In a lot of ways he reminds me of how I was when I started driving.”

Geniole has been a regular competitor at Sunset Speedway near Barrie, Ontario, in the Super Stock division.

“As for this weekend I wasn’t planning on racing,” said McColm. “It’s good to have options, and we know the car will be ready when we get to the track. I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel again.”

McColm last raced during the series’ western swing in Saskatoon. The 2016 season started successfully with Buck’s runner-up finish at CTMP in the Dodge Dealers of Ontario Advertising Association #1. Jackson kept the ball rolling when he finished third in the 1 car at Sunset Speedway in race number two.

As the series swung into high gear the fortune turned for CBRT. The speed was evident all year, but the results weren’t indicative of the performance of the equipment. McColm says there is lots to build from looking towards next year.

“We invested in equipment, and it has been fast,” he said. “We can’t control our racing fortune, but we can put an exclamation mark on the season with a strong outing at Kawartha Speedway.
